Fathers in
the Field
"Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression;
bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause."
Isaiah 1:17 (NASB)
Defending the Cause
of the Fatherless
"For a boy who has been abandoned by his earthly father, hearing the healing and encouraging words that he has a Father in Heaven who created him, loves him, and will never forsake him is a powerful and grace-filled perspective." Fathers in the Field
Fathers in the Field is a church-based ministry pairing fatherless boys ages 7 to 17 with godly men from the local congregation. Through outdoor activities, community service, and intentional mentoring, these men walk alongside abandoned boys and point them toward a Heavenly Father who will never forsake them. Calvary Bible Church is honored to participate in this mission, sending men from our congregation into the field to answer God's call.
Fathers in the Field touches every part of the family and the congregation. No one is a bystander.
For a boy who has been abandoned, a man who simply shows up and keeps his word is transformative. The ministry is built on constancy and commitment.
These men have been examined, approved, and publicly commissioned by Calvary Bible Church to walk faithfully beside a fatherless boy. Please pray for them and their Field Buddies by name.
This is not a spectator ministry. Every person at Calvary has a role: whether you step into the field, open your family's door, or uphold this work in prayer.
Live Outside Our Area?
Fathers in the Field isn't a Calvary-only ministry. It's a model built to equip any church, anywhere, to defend the cause of the fatherless boys in its own community. If you're outside Middle Tennessee and want to bring this ministry to your church, or you simply want to learn more, reach out and we'll connect you directly with our contacts in the broader Fathers in the Field network.
